Can Exercise Reduce Stress?
*****************************************************************
This is my bias on this one! And Yes, I do know from experience that exercise reduces stress and helps cure it too!
Dillon McRamey writes:

“Why do people exercise?
• Lose weight
• Look better
• Feel better

The last one is what you are going for with stress management. The other two are just great bonuses. Feeling better from the inside out can change your entire outlook on life. Sometimes, a stressful situation just needs a fresh attitude.”

Dillon McRamey has a lot to say about the benefits of exercise that help us reduce stress. To feel better automatically helps us manage stress, having more energy, clarity of mind and better health.

How to achieve exercise success, even if you can’t stand to exercise?

*******************************************************
Many people think of exercise as a chore. You may be one of them. But exercise has an upside that is beneficial in helping you manage the stress in your life.
From Mike Adams, the Health Ranger:
“I know from experience that a lot of people become intellectual experts on health, nutrition, physical exercise and disease prevention, among other topics, without really integrating much of that information into their lives. We often find it easy to agree on the principles of health, but difficult to actually take the steps needed to make those principles a reality in our own lives. I would like to share some tips with you on how to start moving in the right direction toward reaching your personal health potential.“

Meditation: Why Buddhists don’t get the blues

*******************************************************
And for some more passive approaches to manage stress.Even the NHS recognises the great benefits of meditation.

On Tuesday May 11,2010
Adrian Lee writes:

“ACCORDING to Buddhist philosophy, meditation is the answer to my human ills. If our minds are calm and free from fear we will know true health and happiness, it is claimed. In the East millions of people seek enlightenment through meditation but for many of us the concept is all a bit too spiritual and hard to grasp.
However there is growing evidence that a form of the technique, called mindfulness meditation, should be regarded as a potent treatment for patients who have suffered from depression.”

Also:

“Results have been so impressive that Nice, the government body that approves NHS treatments, now recommends this form of meditation.”
